What is a Connector?

A Connector is anyone who posts an accommodation on Shelteer — an agent, landlord, owner, authorized representative, or someone offering a room. They connect you to the legitimate property owner, landlord, agent or authority.

What's the difference between the Accommodation Price and the Connector Fee?

The Accommodation Price is what you pay the owner, landlord or authority for the place — Shelteer doesn't process that payment. The Connector Fee is paid to the Connector for the connection service, and it's the amount Shelteer's Safehold protects. The two are always shown separately.

What does Interested mean?

It means you're considering a listing — nothing more. It's free, and you can browse and mark listings without paying anything.

How do I become Qualified?

You become Qualified when you're Interested and the required Safehold is funded. Funding Safehold alone isn't enough, and neither is interest alone. Use Fund & Unlock Selected on your Interested page — it works out what you need in one step.

How much Safehold do I need for several listings?

Only the highest single Connector Fee among the listings you select, not the sum. If your Safehold Wallet already covers it, there's nothing more to pay.

What happens when I'm Qualified?

The Connector's contact tools unlock, the exact address becomes visible, and a first message is sent to the Connector for you so you can arrange a viewing.

When does the Connector get paid?

Never automatically. After you've been connected and you've paid the accommodation fee, the Connector requests release of the Connector Fee. You then confirm both that you were connected and that you paid — only then is it released. If something is wrong, you can open a dispute instead.

What if something goes wrong?

Open a dispute from your Interested page once you're Connected. The Connector Fee stays locked in your Safehold Wallet while the dispute is under review. You can add an explanation and evidence.

What if someone else gets the place first?

Only one client can complete a listing. When that happens, the listing becomes Unavailable, you're notified, and any Safehold that no longer protects a live listing can be refunded to your Main Wallet from your Interested page.

Is my real name public?

No. Your @username is what others see. Your full name stays private, and exact property addresses stay hidden until you're Qualified for that listing.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Browse listings, universities and campuses freely. You only need an account to save a listing, fund your wallet, message a Connector, post a listing or withdraw.
